HOW WE STARTED?
Small & Medium Businesses assume a very critical supportive role in the country’s globalization efforts as it forms the backbone of Malaysia’s economy. Complementing the efforts of the Malaysian government in its quest to encourage Malaysian businesses to globalize its presence, this platform started in the year 2002 as a campaign to create the importance of web presence with the aim to promote the interest and develop the global competitiveness of small and medium businesses. Large corporate and multinational companies were encouraged to foster linkages with the SMIs & SMEs to create a cohesive network that is very much needed to strive within the global arena.
The campaign is known as SMISME Web-Presence Campaign and is being complemented with the hardcopy web directory namely SMISME Web Guide, which was simultaneously introduced to spearhead the development of the entire campaign. The SMISME Web Guide acts as a stepping-stone to guide small and medium businesses onto the virtual spectrum. The combination of both the physical and virtual spectrum is termed as “The Ultimate Business Reference” covering all businesses regardless of its size in every industry.

- strengthening the platform with physical offline media presence;
- facilitating the cross-selling of advertising and promotion avenues;
- creating innovative advertising and promotion programs;
- forming business networks amongst members worldwide;
- encouraging business matching across borders;
OUR OBJECTIVES
The Initial Objective is the “ADOPT” stage whereby we assist businesses to adopt the internet cyberspace as one of their marketing platform in tandem with globalization.
The Primary Objective is the “ADAPT” stage whereby we nurture businesses to adapt to the usage of the internet cyberspace as a source of information to drive their businesses.
The Ultimate Objective is the “APPLY” stage whereby we inculcate businesses to habitually apply practical web applications in their daily operations in order to compete in the global arena.
OUR ACTION PLAN
In order to drive our Objectives to accomplish our Mission into materializing our Vision, our Action Plan is to set-up operation offices through business partnerships, joint ventures or licensing in every country worldwide.
THE ROAD WE TRAVEL
We have successfully driven the Initial Objective with the SMISME Web Presence Campaign registering more than 8,000 members. In the year 2007, the platform is being re-branded to drive the objective of the second stage. Hence, the evolution of A Truly Distinctive Business Platform ……. SMINE RESOURCES.
