SMISME Creates Platform For Companies To Expand Globally
STARBIZ, Monday 23rd July 2007
SMISME Resources Sdn Bhd has developed a business platform consisting of contact directories, a business web portal, and advertising and promotion services to support Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to expand business globally.
"The platform is to help SMIs (small and medium industries) and SMEs through better networking, business matching and promotion of their products and services through advertising," said founder and chief executive officer Phillippe Yeow.
Although the SMI Association has been organising events such as road shows, conferences, exhibitions and awards, he feels that more facilities are needed for the SMIs and SMEs.
Currently, its business platform -SMINE Resources - provides products and services such as SMINE Resources Guide, SMINE Business Portal and SMINE ICAS and Airtime.
Yeow, who is also chairman of the trade and business-matching bureau in the SMI Association, said SMINE Resources Guide was a yearly contact directory printed in a table calendar form. The directory consisted of SMEs' contact details, he said. The 2008 edition, to be printed in December, will be offered to the public for free. SMISME Resources, founded in 2002, published the first directory in 2004. At the end of 2005, it introduced the business portal to provide online networking.
He said enterprises and the public could freely access the site (smisme.org or smineresources.com) to view the contact details and profiles of SMEs.
"SMEs can register as a member and list their own company profiles for free," he added.
Recently, the company has started talks with advertising agencies in Britain, Australia, Vietnam, India and China to provide advertising services abroad.
SMISME Resources has teamed up with Simfoni Maya Sdn Bhd, a media infrastructure company, and plans to launch the ICAS (Interrupted In-content Advertising Space) and Airtime service early next month. "This advertising service is for SMEs to advertise on the TV screens at TM-point outlets at a reasonable rate," Yeow said.
